Having always been fascinated as a child with TV’s, videos, HI-FI and technology, I left Hilbre High School and in 1996 I found a job which suited my interests perfectly, working for A Local Independent Specialist Shop in West Kirby (Douglas Gill LTD) which traded since the 1960s, this is where I began learning my trade, the shop later become a Euronics outlet, which is when I left and a few years later I was sad to see the business close.
It was at Douglas Gill that I found my niche working alongside TV/Audio Engineers, I was constantly learning and researching about new developments and future technology that was coming to the market, It actually ended up that engineers/installers began asking “me” questions about newer products emerging while they were teaching me.
After 9 years of service in 2005, it was clear that sadly the internet, supermarkets and big stores, were slowly taking over the smaller independent shops, I knew that some people didn’t have the technical ‘know how’ to be able to install the products coming onto the market. I had the knowledge and experience so I decided to leave to start my own business, offering a unique service providing home visits to install and advise on how to get the most out of equipment for people buying elsewhere, offering the same level of personal service that we did as an independent shop.
I built up a large community of customers who relied upon my expertise and of course this just grew, with them providing great feedback to me for the help, advice and services that I have offered to them over the years.
I have always maintained my interest in future developments moving into this new “connected” digital world.
